ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The department of Computer Science and Engineering was started in 2001 with the primary objective of providing world class education in the field of computers, addressed towards the problems of today and tomorrow. The department endeavors to produce confident professionals tuned to the real time working environment.

VISION OF THE DEPARTMENT

We are committed, through continuing curriculum improvements and a new undergraduate learning center, to an undergraduate program pursued by a vibrant, diverse community of engaged and active learners. Our graduates will be well prepared for graduate school and the diverse workplaces of the global economy.

INFRASTRUCTURE

The Department has six computing centres with HP, HCL & Zenith Systems equipped with Intel Core 2 Duo and 2 GB DDR2 RAM Configurations for all the Systems in all laboratories

OBJECT ORIENTED PROGRAMMING LAB

 To teach the principles of good programming practice and to give a practical    training in writing efficient programs in C++.

DATA STRUCTURES LAB

To develop Programming skills in design and implementation of data structures and their applications like implementation of linked list,doubly linked list,polynomial addition,stack,queue,tree,hashing function and Prims algorithms.

OPERATING SYSTEMS LAB

To have a thorough knowledge of processes ,scheduling concepts,memory managements,I/O and file systems in a operating system and to implement the above followings in LINUX platform and use C for high level language implementation.

DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS LAB

To Teach the strong foundation in Database technology and to develop a programming in DDL Commands,DML Commands,DCL Commands,High level languages like Cursors, Triggers, Procedures, Functions and to design and implementation of application projects

NETWORKS LAB

To provide an exposure to the students with hands on experience on various simulator tools like OPNET,NS2 and build applications using TCP sockets,UDP Sockets , Raw sockets and to implement Remote procedure call.

GRAPHICS AND MULTIMEDIA LAB

To import the fundamental concepts of computer graphics & multimedia and to implement the Bresenham's algorithm,text and image compression algorithm,2D Transformations and window viewport mapping and to perform animation using software.

JAVA PROGRAMMING LAB

To teach the principles of good programming practice and to give a practical training in writing efficient programs in JAVA.

COMPILER DESIGN LAB

 To Teach the strong foundation in the priniciple of compiler design and makes the  students to design and implements a simple compiler.

SYSTEM SOFTWARE LAB

 To make the students to understand system software concepts and make them to  design  and implements the various system software tools like assemblers,loaders,linkers and  macro processors.

CASETOOLS LAB

 To make the students to understand the life cycle of software development and make  them to  design and implements the various application projects with the help of Rational  rose software

INTERNET PROGRAMMING LAB

 To explain Java concepts and related Programming and scripting lamguages and get  practices in these technoloies like HTML tools,java script,server side Programming tools  and etc.

VISUAL PROGRAMMING LAB

 To make the students to understand and practice in windows Programming concepts  including Microsoft foundatio classes using visual C++.

COMPUTER PRACTICE LAB- I

 To provide an awareness to computing and programming and to give practices in word  processing,spread sheet and simple C programmings.

COMPUTER PRACTICE LAB-II

 To study and practice in UNIX commands and  develop a Programming skills in shell  programming and C Programming on UNIX.

Communication Lab

In Communication Laboratory students are enriched with the knowledge of soft skills that will be useful for them to get placed in a reputed organization.

Microprocessor Lab

In Microprocessor Laboratory the students are taught how to operate on various types of processors like 8085, 8086 and controllers like 8051.

FACULTY

CSE department has 30 faculty members.  All the Assistant Professors and Senior Lecturers in the department are pursuing their Ph.D.  The department also has specialized post graduate faculties in the field of Multimedia Systems and Computer Networks.  Few faculties have industry experience from various corporate like HCL Technologies, Iris Technologies, etc.
