Value Added Courses


     Value added courses are offered to provide additional learner centric, graded skill oriented technical training, with the primary objective of improving the employability skills of students. Further, students are guided and trained on the various aspects of building career and assisted in exploring new opportunities. The courses offered facilitate the students to keep pace with the latest technologies pertaining to their chosen field of studies and make them getting trained well. The students have the option to choose the courses according to their desires and inclinations. Through the value added courses, from the experts, the students gain knowledge, which will enable them to face the formidable challenges of the future.

Course Designing

    The departments interested in offering Value Added Courses are to analyse the need for training, discuss with the generic employers, alumni and industrial experts to get familiarised with emerging trends before designing the syllabus. A new Value Added Course can be introduced by the departments with the consent of the faculty members. The course offered should not be the same as any course listed in the curriculum of the respective programme.  

NPTEL Local Chapter

    NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) is a joint initiative of the IITs and IISc. Through this initiative, online courses and certification in various topics are offered. NPTEL has been offering self-study courses across engineering, humanities and science streams for more than a decade. Local Chapter will help students and faculty members to earn online certification for NPTEL courses, the highlight being the certification exam through which the student gets an opportunity to earn a certificate from the IITs.
