About the Department
The Department of Management Studies was started in the year 2005 with a sanctioned intake of 60. The enrolment ratio was 100% in the recent academic years. The department is recognized as Promising B-School of India 2022 by Competition Success Review, ranked as B+ Category (2016) by Chronicle – All India B-school Survey, and as a Top Promising B-School in India (2015) by Competition Success Review.
The department owes its success to the emphasis on greater interface with industry, increased focus on research, and continuous improvement in infrastructure. The department possesses three granted design patents and has published research articles in various fields.
The main focus has been on Integrated Learning, Consulting, Ethical and Committed Professionals, Competency Development, and Career Settlement. The department is well-equipped to inspire students to achieve new heights in their careers and personal lives, adapting to the evolving needs of society. One of the key approaches is promoting entrepreneurship and instilling a mindset among students to create their own business ventures.
The department’s association with professional bodies such as CII, NIPM, and EEDISIA plays a significant role in enriching the quality of the curriculum. The program provides students with opportunities to engage with practical industry and societal experiences. Activities such as Outbound Training, Managerial Skill Development Initiatives, Community Immersion and Entrepreneurship Interface practices, Research Immersion Projects, In-Plant Training, Value-Added Courses, Academic and Industrial Guest Lectures, Entrepreneurship Development Programs, Business Ethics Practices, Conferences, Seminars, Workshops, Case Analysis, Field Visits, and Industrial Visits are periodically organized to enhance student development across various domains.
The department offers career-oriented and guidance programs to help students align their value systems with current industrial practices. These efforts aim to prepare students for higher studies, placements, and to transform them into young entrepreneurs. The department is committed to fostering all-round excellence, encouraging student participation in co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

The laboratories are well equipped with the current technology, equipment and licensed software packages to enrich the learning experience with the support of Program specific curriculum, which is carefully designed to include the modern technological trends. Each laboratory maintains a stock register detailing the history of the equipment available. Each laboratory operates on a specific schedule which is stated by the corresponding Time Table of the specific semester / branch.
