About the Department
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in the year 2001. It offers a 4 year B.E (Computer Science and Engineering) programme and 2 year M.E. (Computer Science and Engineering) programme. The department has been recognized as a centre for carrying out Ph.D. Programme under Anna University, Chennai. It has dedicated faculty members specialized in different areas of Computer Science and Engineering.

B.E – Computer Science and Engineering
- PEO1: Core Competency: Utilize and keep abreast of the latest trends in computer technology as professionals to satisfy the needs of the core industry and society.
- PEO2: Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Apply recent tools, technologies and innovative ideas for leading successful careers in research/ entrepreneurship and to excel in solving real world problems.

M.E – Computer Science and Engineering

B.E – Computer Science and Engineering
- PO1:Â Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
- PO2:Â Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
- PO3:Â Design and Development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
- PO4:Â Investigation of Complex Problems:: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
- PO5:Â Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
- PO6:Â The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
- PO7:Â Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

M.E – Computer Science and Engineering
- PO1:Â Research Aptitude: An ability to independently carry out research / investigation, identify problems and develop solutions to solve practical problems.
- PO2: Technical Documentation: An ability to write and present a substantial technical report / document.
- PO3:Â Technical competence: Student should be able to demonstrate a degree of mastery over the area as per the specialization of the program. The mastery should be at a level higher than the requirements in the appropriate bachelor program.
- PO4:Â Handle complex problems: Use research based knowledge, method, appropriate techniques, resources and tools to solve complex engineering issues with an understanding of the limitations.
- PO5:Â Environmental Sustainability and societal ethics: Ensure development of socially relevant and eco-friendly indigenous products by applying technical knowledge, ethical principles and, sound engineering practices.
